Lantern Festival at MAX Game: Honoring Tradition, Strengthening Bonds

On February 12, 2025, the MAX Game team came together to celebrate the Lantern Festival, a cherished Chinese tradition marking the end of Lunar New Year festivities. This year’s event featured two classic activities—“Yuanxiao Tweezer Challenge” (using chopsticks to pick up ping pong balls) and “Lantern Riddle Guessing”—that not only immersed us in cultural heritage but also deepened our connections as a team.

Activity 1: Yuanxiao Tweezer Challenge – Skill, Laughter, and Team Spirit

The Yuanxiao Tweezer Challenge put a playful twist on tradition. While yuanxiao (sweet glutinous rice balls) symbolize family reunion, we substituted them with ping pong balls for a hilarious test of skill. Armed with chopsticks, teams competed to transfer as many “yuanxiao” (balls) as possible into bowls within a time limit. The slippery balls and ticking clock turned the game into a lively spectacle, with cheers erupting as colleagues mastered the art of precision. This activity mirrored our work ethos at MAX Game: balancing focus, agility, and a dash of fun to achieve goals.

Activity 2: Lantern Riddle Guessing – Wisdom in Collaboration

Next, the office glowed with vibrant lanterns for the Lantern Riddle Guessing session. Rooted in centuries-old customs, lantern riddles blend poetry, wordplay, and cultural wisdom. Teams huddled together, deciphering riddles that challenged both logic and creativity. The activity sparked lively discussions, with colleagues pooling their knowledge to crack each puzzle. While the riddles varied in difficulty, the shared effort to solve them reinforced the power of teamwork—a core value at MAX Game.
